Topics I Plan to Write About and Why

So many stories, but where to start? Help me choose!

When I created my blog and joined Medium, I only wanted to write about my travel experiences. I wanted to share my amazing travel story and inspire others to visit new places and try new things. And I’ll keep doing that.

However lately, I found myself thinking about other stories I want to write about. Stories that are more personal and touch on multitudes of topics. Here are some of those:

• My experience working in a toxic company. The interesting part about my experience was that it wasn’t obvious that it was a toxic environment until I almost had a mental breakdown and burnout.
• Why I don’t want to go back to live in Greece. I get that question a lot, “Don’t you want to go back to Greece? The sun, the food, the sea, blah blah”. No, I don’t. Because, like the punch line of a joke says, “Don’t confuse tourism with immigration.” I want to write about, unfortunately, the frustrating mess that Greece is when you live there.
• My mother's cancer story. She passed in May 2021 from Glioblastoma (brain cancer). Not only her story is a good exhibit for the previous topic (the mess that is Greece) but I think it would also be cathartic for me and maybe my story could help somebody else.
• My family history. My family is a mess. We are a “reconstructed” family and there are so many issues running down the generations. I believe there are many topics to unfold from parenting mistakes, alcohol, abuse and many more. But most importantly, how I take all those and try to make myself better instead of playing the blaming game.
• Diving. I already have some articles about diving from my first attempt at writing on Medium. But I want to tell more personal stories like how I ended up diving and working in a diving centre despite being terrified of diving.
• Relationships. I have experienced very emotionally abusive relationships but managed to break the pattern and I am now in a very loving and respectful 13 years relationship that ended in a wedding. Think I can find interesting tales there too.

I probably have thought of many more that I’m forgetting as my writing this. But this is an overall of the topics I would like to write about. So many to choose from, I don’t know where to start. Please let me know if any of those sound more interesting and should prioritize.
